The University of Memphis Confucius Institute

The Confucius Institute at the University of Memphis promotes understanding of the Chinese language and culture among the people of the United States, develops friendly relations between the U.S. and China, accelerates the expansion of multiculturalism and provides opportunities for students studying the Chinese language. After recently being named one of the top six Confucius Institutes in the United States and one of the top 30 Confucius Institutes in the world, the CIUM expanded to the 10th floor of Wilder Tower to accommodate 70 employees. The program includes flexible spaces to accommodate both business and cultural activities including workshops, seminars, and crash courses on specialized topics related to culture, law, politics, music performances, art, calligraphy, and sculpture exhibits and film festivals.
