The University of Memphis
Cook Analytics and Trading Laboratory

This state-of-the-art financial simulation stock trading laboratory located in the Fogelman College of Business at the University of Memphis provides students the opportunity to learn how to trade in stocks & bonds and study financial market trends, the performance of companies and national economies.  Computers equipped with Bloomberg financial trading software enable students to study finance in a setting that mimics a Wall Street stock broker’s office. The Bloomberg service is widely used in financial firms around the globe and allows users to analyze real-time financial market data and place trades on an electronic trading platform. The lab has twenty-four student stations and one faculty station. Data boards, 24-hour news channels broadcast over five large-format television displays and a continuously running ticker display creates the drama and exciting atmosphere typical of real world stock markets. The lab gives students the opportunity to see how trading firms operate and better prepare them for the workforce and internships.
